BioThis is going to be the LJ for my NaNoWriMo for 2008. At this stage, I have no idea what I'm going to be writing about, and haven't really done much thinking about which of the many ideas I'm going to run with. Watch this space-- if you want to.
17/10/08: I've actually listed the ideas and put up a poll asking for help choosing what direction I should toddle off in this year. I don't like making decisions. :(
26/10/08: I now know what I'm doing, and I've upped the benchmark on myself: I'm aiming to do 250,000 words this month.
It's been five years since the group started meeting.
A year since it fell apart.
And Ken's not going to sort his life out until he gets to tell the story of how it happened.
When Ken answered the call for interested local writer-types for meetups, drinks and company, he thought it sounded like a nice way to spend the odd lonely evening...
People connected with one another, because they wanted to. Gradually they became concerned about one another's lives; they became friends. They saw one another through the good times, the bad times, the boring times...
And then they started to fall apart.
Maybe it was when Bridge tried bringing in someone new.
Maybe it was when Travis admitted that his charmed life wasn't so hot after all.
Maybe it was when Rob got depressed and started taking time off, returning with a small following of wide-eyed fans...
It was definitely going to a bad place when The Let Go Centre for Spiritual Emancipation opened when enough people believed him... and then everything went haywire that night it was blown sky high...
But Ken can't sleep, and a year on, he wants answers and insight, and he's determined to get them. The obsession is starting to eat out what he's managed to rebuild of his life, and threatens his sanity if he doesn't deal with it, move on, and let go...
